The Internet was first created for military purposes in the USA in 1969, and with the ARPANET (Advanced Research Authority Net) project, it carries the country's defense for communication via computer. The project, which was created to prevent the flow of information in case of interruption of communication with the computer, also forms the basis of today's internet. After ARPANET, new networks called NSFNET (National Science Foundation) and Compuserve for commercial purposes were introduced in 1986 to enable universities to share for scientific purposes. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Proctocol/ In this context, the Internet Protocol (Internet Protocol) has been activated as a common language. Enhanced WWW (World Wide Web) enables all information broadcast over the internet to be gathered on the same channel and accessed by users on a single channel. Thanks to the WWW extension, it has become possible to publish data in different structures such as text, picture, sound, animation, video, and access the data.
The first internet connection in Turkey was made on April 12, 1993. In the early years, only TUBITAK and universities were allowed to use the Internet, and it was used only in METU and Ege University. Today, every individual has easy access to the Internet as he wishes.
As in the whole world, the Internet startup in Turkey is used for information transfer. In 1995, in parallel with the development in the world, Turkish entrepreneurs were also sent to the Internet with an increasing demand day by day. People needed the internet for faster transportation and interaction information. However, interaction with websites, e-mail and other services has been provided, especially for promotion and marketing, interaction has become larger and more useful.
Nowadays, the internet is evolving and has become a part of our lives. Internet has been used more frequently in our daily life. We use it in many areas such as internet communication, information transfer, e-mail, shopping. Everything is just a click away from the internet. With today's technology, we exist in a more innovative world in the most advanced internet age.
